"As a former frequent visitor to 'Le Tripot' on this site, I was interested to re visit the place now under different management and known as 'La Popote'. The restaurant offers a choice of around five entrees , main courses and desserts. The menu was instantly appealing, mainly local produce, and changes each day. Its a cosy place to enjoy quality french cuisine, accompanied by a quick and friendly service. Strongly advised to book in advance as the restaurant is not large. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and will certainly return!"

"Dropped in to this place at exactly the right moment, because 20 minutes later it was full. But not crowded the service was great friendly and relaxed. I had the Heart of Rumpsteak and it was perfectly cooked my partner had the Pork and I helped her to finish as the portion was large and I was more than willing to help. Also enjoyed the twist on a creme brulee with salt caramel"

"We had a wonderful experience at La Popote! Despite the language barrier, the service was absolutely fantastic — everyone was incredibly kind and attentive. The food was outstanding, full of flavor and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was also a highlight: cozy, charming, and perfect for a special dinner. Highly recommended!"

"Thursday evening meal, reserved table in advance, as we could not get a table in August when the restaurant was fully booked. We took this as a good sign and decided to come back. Choice of 3 starters, about 8 mains, 4 desserts plus ice creams. So compact menu but still plenty of choice. You can see into the kitchen and it is perfectly clean, and from the sounds from the kitchen the food is freshly cooked. Ravioli and Terrin starters were perfect. Steak cooked exactly as requested, pork very tender. Good portion sizes. Desserts and espresso were spot on. The Rioja was very good and reasonably priced. Only downside was the cider, great that it was in a 33cl bottle but family produced does not mean that it is good. Service was excellent, fast, friendly but not intrusive. Background music was good. Will be back."
